270 Ibs - Obesity Message Board

Hi
My friend is short and she weighs 270 pounds (123 kg). She doesnt think this makes her obese, but she is only 5"4 or 5"5 tall. She is 22 years old. What do you all think?

She has back pain, knee pain and stomach pains. She also had problems with her ovaries, something about the possibility of ovarian cysts and irregular cycles.

ummm... she is morbidly obese!!!!!!

she should be about 60kgs or 12-140lbs for heavens sake. she probably has a long list of health concerns.

ovary problem is probably pcos. her pains are probably due to weight bearing on her joints. tell her to doctor and get some labs done. especially her thyroid TSH and Free T 3 & 4, glucose, insulin, crp (inflammatory), hormones including testosterone, DHEA

any doctor will tell her she is at risk for heart disease. get her vitamin d checked. get her adrenals checked. hormones run our body there is a reason why she is 270lbs

Yes she is Obese,
she should go get some help,
before it gets WAY out of hand.

What your friend needs is your support, your friendship and help.

Back pain and Knee pain can happen to anyone, my honey is 5'0 and 98lbs and has back and knee pain, along with anyone can get ovarian cysts, the weight has causes her irregular cycles.

Instead of trying to prove she's this or that, be her friend and inspiration.

the reason why i wrote on this board is because of the very fact that i am being her friend. I was trying to put two and two together. I wasnt trying to prove anything, i was just talking about her symptoms and what she goes through. I am being her friend by being concerened about her. Nothing sinister, really.
