Why is it Everytime I go to a dr he cant look past my weight?

Im 31, mother of 3. I was always thin, lost baby weight after my 2 daughters, but after my last child I had my gall bladder removed a month after having him, in since that 4yrs ago, ive just doubled my weight Im almost 300 lbs, I have tried several diet clinics doctors drugs for weight loss, exercise, i just cant get the weight off. Ive had other symptoms that im wondering if it could be possible that I may have something that will cause me to be unable to lose weight. Since my son, I rarely have periods, if I do there extremely heavy full of huge clots, and painful. but then Ill go 4 -5 mths before I have another. Its so heavy i have to wear a pad huge one and super tampon n still change very very often.

Every time I go to Drs they weigh me and thats all they talk about they hear nothing i say, when I was preg I complained of horrible back pain under my shoulder blades they said it was my weight... To find out it was an infected gall bladder which I had to live with until I finally took myself to a specialist & demanded he look past my weight an run a darn test..

I just havent felt right since the birth of my last child tired, light headed a lot I feel like my heads in a cloud bad

Not to harp on the weight issue but I do know that being overweight or underweight can cause haovic on your body. It can cause you to not have your period. I know you said that you have tried all different kinds of diets and all but have you tried having a personal trainer? Someone that really knows about nutrition?

Have you ever had your thyroid tested to see if it is functioning properly? Your thyroid could have something to do with your weight gain. You know your own body better than anyone. If you don't like what the doctor says go get a 2nd or 3rd opinion or how many ever it takes.

I hope you can get to the bottom of this!

Lacie

This suggestion may seem silly to many, however, it definitely helps. Wear a mask or tape over mouth when preparing meals. It is so easy to nibble away many calories and then sit down at the table and eat a complete meal.

From one overweight person to another!! Give it a try. I lost 65 lbs. by keeping an invisible zipper in closed position over my mouth when in presence of food other than when sitting at the table with 3 oz. meat, 1/2 cup green veg, plus another 1/2 cup green veg on my plate, no seconds and no snacks.

Have your thyroid checked as soon as you can!!!!! SOme of your symptoms are just classic hypothyroid symptoms. This can often be triggered by pregnancy.....that's what happened to me!

Even if one is not overweight, it can be extremely difficult to get an MD to PROPERLY check a thyroid. Half the time they just perscribe antidepressants. You want to make sure you get the following tests:

TSH, FT4, FT3 and Tpo Ab.

Make sure you get results yourself, on paper, and post them on the thyroid board. That is were you'll likely get the answers you seek. THe other scenario is the nurse calling you and saying everything is "normal".

Good luck to you and hang in there.
