Re: if a man loses a lot of weight what happens to the skin

Usually the skin shrinks along with weight loss. If weight loss is too fast, the skin will not have time to shrink as much as it needs to.

Best to lose weight on a normal regular schedule than a sudden drop.

Over time if the skin does not shrink a person will either have excess skin or have it removed.

I agree with Misty.
But it can also depend on the age of the (person) who is losing the weight.
Younger people are more apt. to not having loose skin, then older people.
Either way losing weight to fast not only causes saggy skin, but it also causes ALOT of other health problems aswell.

I can speak from experience. I lost 143 lbs. 4 years ago and the skin hangs and sags everywhere. I had to have surgery to reduce the amount of unsightly sagging. I had my stomach, boobs, arms and face done, and still need to have the thighs done.

Re: if a man loses a lot of weight what happens to the skin

Just heard a doctor last month say "think of it as the suit you've grown". It will shrink a bit but not for a huge loss. I've heard that 50 pounds is the mid ground. Up to that point it will shrink. After that, it's like an empty balloon.
