Obesity and your Workplace

I am trying to lose weight and sometimes feel that my workplace undermines my ability to do so. Do you feel as if your work or workplace makes it difficult to eat healthy? If yes, how do you overcome this? Does your job encourage fitness and exercise? If so, is there a fitness center at your work location?

Your thoughts and help are very much appreciated. Just trying to find out how others deal with this....

Re: Obesity and your Workplace

Sorry you are having trouble dealing with this, however we are the only ones that can control what goes into our mouths. We are the only ones controlling the "hand to mouth" motion!

Please realize that we should not feel others must give up goodies just because you and I cannot eat them without gaining weight.

Practice putting an "invisible zipper" in closed position over your mouth when in presence of no-no foods.

Develop a positive attitude, participate and enjoy the party, have fun, etc. while sipping on a glass of ice water!

If I can do it, you can do it.

Hey buddy, just eat healthy foods or fruits while lunch or in office break time. I manage eating like this.

Re: Obesity and your Workplace

I have kept my weight off for 13 years. The people at my work (office) eat whatever they want. I do my own thing. I make a spinach smoothie everyday and they think I am crazy but all want to look like me LOL

Re: Obesity and your Workplace

Our office has all I kinds of bad foods ready for the taking including doughnuts, chocolates but also fruit now Someone pointed out to the MD that a daily fruit delivery lowered the number of sick days taken in the office. But before that I used to just buy my own fruit
