hello
i've got a list of compulsive behaviors that i do... none of them are really productive in any way... (for example, checking stoves/hair straightener, checking alarm clock 3 times, pulling door handles 3 times to make sure they are locked)... doing these things reassure me, but they aren't productive...
so i'm wondering if anyone has actually created compulsive/obsessive behaviors that ARE productive?? because i'm thinking it might be a good thing to be compulsive about.. say... cleaning my room? or exercising regularly... do you know what i mean? i know that people DO have these compulsions but my question is if anyone has developed them ON PURPOSE??? and how?

and btw, i do know that having more compulsions, no matter what they are, isn't a good thing... it doesn't help in trying to overcome ocd... but aside from that...
