new symptom

Ok...I've had an obsession with my health for a long time, which I've gotten pretty good at dealing with, but now I've got a new symptom. It's happened 3 times so far over a period of a couple of months, but really freaks me out. It happens in the morning when I wake up too early and try to go back to sleep. Its like a buzz- hard to explain- that goes through my body and I feel like I'm paralyzed. It only lasts a second or two, and I have to really try to fight it to come out of it, which I do right away because I'm scared to see what would happen if I don't. This will happen several times in a row until I get upset and just get up. It's never happened outside of bed, and other than being tired, I feel fine afterwards. Anyone experience something similar?

Re: new symptom

Hi,
That buzz thing doesn't sound a whole lot like OCD to me. It sounds like it's not really related to anything obsessive even though you may worry about it. But let me ask you this; which came first, the buzz, or the worrying? Because maybe you worry so much that the feeling becomes physical, or maybe the buzz is unrelated and it upsets you. Does it seem to come when you are worried more?
I've never experienced anything exactly like it, but the medicine Neurontin gave me "brain shocks", where it was like electricity was passing through my head and out my eyes. We never did figure out exactly what that was. But it never paralyzed me, though it was extremely uncomfortable and it was also something that I could hear, and it was as if my vision was being jerked sideways. At its worst, it seemed to be brought on by loud conversation and other noise, looking at lots of movement, color, or intricate patterns, and almost invariably, exercise or whenever my heart rate would go significantly up for more than like 5 minutes.
