15 yr old son on Przac for years but has starting having symptoms again... - Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Message Board

My son has done well on Prozac Weekly for several years but it seems to not be working now and this is just so hard on him and me. He is now convinced that he is losing strength and his "manhood" and so I have made an appointment with the neurologist (his demand) in Dec. He is depressed, no compulsions right now that I know of. I just feel such a burden of trying to keep him alive. Any advice on meds or what I should be doing. I'm tired-this is exhasting but I know he is trapped in hell and I am right there with him. Help.

I'm not a professional on this but I know your body chemistry changes like every seven years or so...do you think his body has just gotten used to this medication? Maybe he could try something different? Just a suggestion or something to pass by the doctor....good luck. I wish I could help you more. Lots of love.
