| stressed/obsessed about being 'right' ?
hi,
I dip in and out of this board - my obsessions wax and wane. I have had sexual obsessions and relationship doubts/fears.
Currently I find myself getting exasperated when other people don't do things the way I think they should. It affects my relationship most. Eg: If my BF is making work/financial decisions I don't agree with, I feel myself becoming obsessively judgemental. Sometimes I make some constructive or critical comments. But I have to reign myself in as I know how awful it is to be on the receiving end of a 'just do it MY way' control freak. Yet I get so agitated when I think he is making 'poor' choices. I end up disliking myself for the intensity of my feelings of judgement. (I know that if the choices are poor he will ultimately learn from them anyway)
When I think my friends are making mistakes in their relationships, I long to direct (boss?!) them out of it, but I know that this is a horrible quality.
I'm working against these tendencies, but it's not always easy. Do any other OCD-ers have this?
