Has any supplements/vitamins helped your ocd?

Has anyone had any luck with vitamins helping their ocd? Seems like I saw a special on Dr. Phil and the vitamin b 6 was mentioned. I have also heard of taking Inositol, this I believe is anoother form of a b vitamin. I have the worst compulsion of always coming behind my family and keeping things straight and organized! It gets so tiring for me! So I was wondering if anyone has had some relief by using any of the vitamins? thanks

i take an omega 3 complex, multi mineral complex, vit c and vit e they do help me a bit but i may start some meds like lexapro but without those vitamins id be miserable.goodluck

I no longer suffer from OCD and DO take B complex, ester C, zinc, calcium, magnesium, and Omega 3 fish oil supplements BUT I wouldn't say any one or combination is necessarily the CURE for my depression and OCD. What I think they do is provide support for your system and gives your body what it needs to better heal itself if it already is on a path of healing itself from imbalance. You should combine supplements along with an improved diet and an excercise routine that will help your body become stronger in order to facilitate it's own repair. I've always had faith in this and it worked for me. Took a while though 2 yrs approximately before I can say I was free of anxiety/depression/ocd.

i agree frank diet , excersize and vitamins are a good combo for healing.

I agree...healthy diet (no caffeine or refined sugar), exercise and vitamin supplements have worked well in reducing my symptoms. I started taking inositol 4 weeks ago (you gradually increase the dose over a 6 week period then take a high dose for a further 6 weeks) and have noticed a definite improvement. Every time I increase the dose I experience GI upset for 2 days but it then subsides. I definetely recommend trying the natural approach as there are really no side effects. I also take vitamin B, multi-vitamin and omega 3.
