My Doc Just Gave Me Risperdal Yesterday,and Im Scared Beyond Belief.i Am Suffering So Badly With Stupid Thoughts(from Ocd),negativism,depression Now,due To All This Crap I Deal With,and Now I Am Beyond Terrified Of These Pills.who Has Been On Them,do They Help???can They Make Me Go Crazy Or Psychotic??? I Know They R An Antipsychotic,but Can They Make U Psychotic Anyway???? I Dont Know What To Do,please Give Me Advice!!! Can They Straighten Out My Racing Thoughts????

i really wish i could give you an answer of yes or no but i am in the same boat as you. DR. gave me Geodon and i am to scared to take it because i am worried it will make me worse or crazy. what kind of stupid thoughts are you getting if you dont mind sharing. mine have been really way out there and bugging the heck out of me for the last week.. just loads of nonsense and scary thoughts.

I Dont Even Know What Thoughts I Am Having! They Just Fly Through My Freakin Head Too Fast To Register,im Sick Of It,and Feel Like Im Going Crazy.i Actually Took A .25 Mg Risp Last Night And One Today,still Terrified And Dont Know If I Will Keep Taking It!

try the meds for a short time to see iof they help OCD is basicly an anxiety disorder and using antipsychotics for anxiety is controversial

I too was freaked to try Risperdal, but a I can say taking it was the best thing I have done since my OCD diagnosis. It works relatively quickly, 1 week or so, as compared to other anxiety/ocd meds. I have done wonderfully on Risperdal for about a year. I am having a slight setback right now, but overall Risperdal helped cut my obsessions about 80-90%. I am very pleased and a big fan of Risperdal.
