In April my fiance and I broke up. I had a lot of things that I didn't get closure with at the time and found out some disturbing things later on about our relationship and the things he had gotten into as well as lied about. The problem as been that I can't seem to let go of this relationship or this person even though the breakup happened two months ago. I keep going over it again and again...when it first ended i almost said the if i can't have you nobody can thing. This is not me as a person and he is the only one I have ever reacted this way too. Though it has gotten better there is still those moments where he will suddenly pop into my head for no reason and it is driving me totally batty. I just want to know if anyone has had a problem letting go of someone they really loved and what they did to get past this situation...it would help me so much.

well i wanted to let you know that you are totally not the only person who does this.. But for me i guess im different cause if i fall for a guy which has only happened a couple times, i cant let him go in my heart for the longest time,. It took me several years with my first love... then i had this other guy i love and he pops into my head quite often and this has been about three years since we were together! even just talking about him makes me kinda sad but its ok.. As far as how to stop doing it,, if you find that out let me know.. Although i did finally get over my first love.. i think it takes for me to fall in love with someone else to fall out of love with the guy but good luck sweetie

Thank you for the reply. The only thing so far that seems to have helpful affect and it sounds nuts. I took a teddy bear and pretended it was the particular person and said all the stuff I didn't get to say when the break up occurred. It has taken awhile but at least i don't so much want to put his head in a grinder lol hmmm..just the image is sort of ok ok totally off topic...thanks...I'll keep looking.

the teddy bear idea is a great one! hmm, i bet that could be good therapy for alot of different situations actually! you should be a councelor or something

Hmmm....future in counciling? Probably not if something happened i would no doubt take it to heart...but yeah it could help in many situations...hope to find a few more to help with this area...Emerald
