| Can adult be strep carrier and have PANDAS?
I am 50 years old and found out this past year that I have Group B Beta strep, and found that I had this as far back as 18 1/2 years ago when I had my son. I also have been treated through the years with different psychiatric meds and have been told by numerous psychiatrists that I have a variety of disorders--actually told 7 years ago that I have OCD. I'm sure that I have it because it is also a family trait of mine. My question is: Can being a carrier of strep into adulthood qualify a person as having PANDAS? I know I have always been a compulsive person (eating, smoking, drinking, talking, etc.) as well as obsessive at times, but I'm not sure if this clarifies what my behavior has been for most of my life. If anyone has a similar background, I would love to hear from you. Thanks!
