So Nervous About Going on Prozac - Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Message Board

So, I know I have already posted similiar... but I am on Luvox - 150 mg. for 10 years and do very well on it...but due to trying to concieve soon, my OBGYN suggested to go on Prozac while pregnant and I am sooo nervous about changing b/c I feel good on Luvox and stressing, the "what if" I don't feel good on Prozac.. I guess I am obsessing really, LOL.. any advice??

everyone's different. that's the problem. But you know I did this with the Zoloft and I dont know if it REALLY did effect me negatively or if I obsessed so much I gave myself the panic attacks/negative feeling. I think you need to go into more positively.

Prozac is supposed to be one of the better ssri's for OCD.

I have been wondering lately if my Effexor is working as well as it once did. I'm conflicted because I'm in a much more stressful position than I was and have been through a lot in the last year or so. But I'm definitely scared of even broaching switching with the meds.

Has anyone else gone from Effexor to another drug? And what were your results?

Can you give hte Prozac a try before you try to get pregnant? That might help reassure you that you'll be okay.

Funny that you say that, because that is what I am doing, I am going to be switching any day onto Prozac.. and not trying to conceive until end of July or August so I will have about 2 full months on it, by early July, I should know if it is not right for me or not, and if that is the case I will switch back to Luvox. They are not saying no to Luvox but rather, chosing Prozac over that. Thanks for the advice, logically I should not worry b/c I can always switch back, true....just OCDing about it, LOL.
