| Re: curing ocd naturally???
After someone mentioned inositol in treating OCD somewhere on this board, I decided to research the topic. About 1 gram of inositol is ingested daily in the average 2500 calorie diet. However, Mendel Fux, an Israeli researcher, found a significant improvement in patients' anxiety levels with 18g/day. Some food sources of inositol are stone ground wheat (11.5 mg inositol/g of wheat), fresh cantaloupe (3.55 mg inositol/g of fruit), grapefruit juice (3.80 mg/g of juice concentrate), and creamy peanut butter (3.04 mg/g). If you don't want to weigh out your food and juice everyday, try inositol as a supplement. Jarrow Formulas derives myo-inositol from rice and Mendel Fux prescribed myo-inositol to his study participants in 3 doses/day of 6 g/each dose.
