Hi,

I have been taking faverin (fluvoxamine maleate, or luvox as the other common brand name for this product), for 9 months. It has been very helpful for reducing my compulsions. Also the reptitive thoughts have also been greatly reduced. I am at a level where my life is around 98% free of my OCD. Faverin has been fantastic.
A few times I have run out of it, and I feel bad when I am not taking it.
I have some questions about it:

a) Is it possible to stay on faverin for the rest of my life? Will it ever cure my OCD so that I won't have to keep taking it? (right now it doesn't matter that I keep taking it for the rest of my life because I feel fine on it with no side-effects). Or will I have to stay on faverin for the rest of my life in order for the OCD symptoms to be held at bay?

b) Are there any long term physical and/or psychological risks associated with long term use of a SSRI such as faverin?

c) Also, is luvox effective mainly for reducing compulsions or obsessions or both?

Any feedback regarding these questions would be greatly appreciated.
