Hi I agree with missys my OCD waxes and wanes also, but in the same breath it doesn't ever go away, and I don't believe it ever will. I have had OCD for a very long time now and there have been good periods and not so good periods, but it is always there. Stress and emotion help my OCD along so if I'm having a bad time in life and I'm stressed and emotional and then more than likely my OCD is even more pronounced otherwise it there all the time just under the surface. I just manage it day to day. That's what we have to learn to do otherwise OCD could literally take over your life and no one wants that. As far as alcohol is concerned all I can say to that is that OCD is connected to depression and alcohol can make people depressed and therefore if you suffer from OCD perhaps make your symptoms worse. Now that's just a guess on my behalf keep that in mind, but also remember that OCD is manageable and we who suffer with it do live normal functional lives, even if we suffer at times.
