Unhappy I Did Something Wrong

The moment everything starts to go right in my life. I invent some new problem that drives me crazy. I recently enrolled in a graduate program, and at first I was happy. Now I keep wondering if I registered correctly, what if my classes get dropped, etc. I Know I did everything correctly, but there is this constant thought saying "what if." I cannot think about anything else. I will not allow myself to be happy that I made an intelligent decision. All I keep thinking is how I did something wrong.

Re: I Did Something Wrong

That sounds exactly like something I would obsess over too. It's like if you don't really have anything to worry about, your mind will just think up something bizarre and extremely far-fetched to tie you over until some other obsession comes along.

i do the same thing too. my doc always tells me that if something like that happens where you obsess over it like that, to try to let it go. in a way "**** happens." you have to think about it in a different view. so what if you messed up one thing? you can always try to get it fixed with the school.

Re: I Did Something Wrong

I have been known to do that when I get one OCD issue resolved sometimes others pop up like my OCD self needs to find something to obsess on just to obsess. Then I remind myself that it is just that - my OCD.
