Post GREAT tips for dealing with axiety and fears

Hello everyone...china is here after a long vacation she needed. I have decided to post something quite dear to me, and I think EVERYONE with depression and anxiety should do this. What is it? MAKE A JOURNAL OF POSITIVE HELPFUL THOUGHTS. Here's what I did: every night for the past few weeks, I have written down things to think about, things that might help. Things special. In reality, depression is all in the mind: perhaps you have heard of cognetive therapy? That there are no positive or negative things or events, just how you REACT to them. It's plain and simple like that. I have problmes with worrying about death and cancer, and n turn, that makes me depressed. However, it takes ALOT of time to train your emotions into positive ones though. Anyway, here,s what I composed. A short list of things to thnk about. I urge everyone to print this out! (Some of it is by a book "Worryer's companion guide" by Beverly Potter, I beleive) Carry it around with you!

******************

-The ONLY one who can affect your emotions is YOU.
-You can't control everything...but there are some MAJOR things that you can.
-DON'T jump to conclusions.
-Live everyday for the moment. You can plan the future in a few ways, but if you are worrying about the future too much, you're not being productive, only harmful.
-Even if something is wrong with you, there is ususally treatment.
-Life is good, beleive it or not. Things could be worse.
-Think positivly. Things usually arn't as bad as they seems because you're constantly in a negative attitude and jumping to conclusions.
-There are NO negative or positive events. Only how you react to them.
-When you imagine things like the future or possible outcomes, keep it positive!
-Follow this rule: when you are thinking negativly or getting worried, yell "STOP!" in your mind, and imagine a big red stopsign. Then, IMMEDIATLY come up with positive thoughts.
-take one day of the week and do NO worrying whatsoever.
-Just because not much is know about something doesn't mean it's the worst case scenario.
-YOU ARE NEVER ALONE! There will always be people to help you along the way.
-Don't be afraid to have fun. A positive outlook is always the best route.
-Ask yourself "What are you REALLY afraid of?"
-Just give into worry sometimes. Admit that you can't find the answer to everything.Every time you find yourself worrying about something you can't change or control, just let go your worry!
-ask yourself this: "What are the facts?" "What am I feeling? What emotions?" "What's working RIGHT in my life?" "What's the next step?"
-Mediate.
-The world exsists in the way you view it.
-Keep asking WHY you are afraid.Keep it truely realistic.
-Remember:when faced with a problem, look at it from a different perspective, as if someone else was viewing it. Go outside your body!
-praying helps. Even if you don't beleive in god, you have nothing to loose by doing so. It brings clerity.
-"You can't play the game of life with sweaty palms" a quote from Dr. Phil : )
-It is okay to be sad or worried, but it's NOT okay to dwell on it.
-No longer use 'what if?' What if's are not reality.
They have not happened.
-If something does happen, you MUST know that you are stromg enough to handle it.
-Remember probablity. In many cases, it's not liklit that it will happen to you.
-Don't forget that you have natural coping skills for all situations.
-ask these things: "What evidence is there for this?" "How else can I think about this?" "How would a friend veiw this?" "What is the worst that could happen?" "Is it likly?" "Is it really a crisis?" "Will worrying help it?"
-Many people hear statistics like "1 in 8 will get breast cancer" many then think "OH my gosh, I know eight women! One of them will get it!" That is not alweays true. There are different risks. And also, reverse those statistics. 7 out of 8 people WON'T get breast cancer. Sounds alot better, huh?
-Find a place in your mind that makes you happy. A picnic. A warm beach. A cool forest. Imagine these things, and use all five senses: touch, smell, taste, hearing, and sight. Engulf yourself in this imaginary world.
-Talk to a friend.
-If you are sad or worried about something, stop and analyze it, both bad and good. However, ALWAYS make more positive points than negative.

I hope these help! I hope people respond if this helps them...this list. Add some of your own to this list, too!

nice list china!!!

i bet ya many people will appreciated it!!!
(LIKE ME)

Well, i was thinking about writting a journal everyday, because so many people do when they feel bad/depressed/lonely/anxious. But then i realize I am a guy, and it would be weird for a guy to keep a diary kindof a thing. BUT THEN i think:

- i m still teenager (hey 19-TEEEEEn is stilll TEEEN, and i m planning on enjoy every single E :-) )

-writting a diary will, help my english writting skills ( right now i can barelly pass my english courses)

-GIrls supposedly "dig" guys who keep diaries,

so its 3 good points vs 1 bad, the choice has been made for me from me,

WHERE IS MY PEN!!?!?!

CHEERz,

thanks again china!
