Hair Sniffing and Eylash/Brow pulling - Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Message Board

Hi all

I pull my Eye Brow and lashes out at times. Main concern I like smelling and touching people's hair (don't laugh, I know it sounds funny).

I am now 23 years old and I sniffed/touched hair ever since I was kid and I would like to know how to stop doing it because I will get in to a lot of trouble over it. My mum thinks my epilptic fits are related to hair sniffing.

Is this an OCD? I even do it to some people at work especially when they don't know that I doing it.

I kiss my mum on the head and sniff it, when I cuddle someone I smell it at the same time.

I want to stop doing it.

sorry this will be medically ignorant but why would you pull eyelashes out? they are a beautiful feature.

I have treacher collins syndrome and some of eye lashes goes inwards and pokes the eye ball which is very irritating and this must of become a habit to me. I know that they a lovely feature of a face, to a girl is better anyway.

If they bug you and poke your eyes, is it really a disorder you have? It's not like you're ripping out regular eyelashes.

From what I can tell...
It is all apart of Trich (hairpulling).
Look into this and you may find your answers.
You may find it strange but there are stranger ways we deal with our hair as trichsters.
