OCD fears about blood..

Hi, I'm new to this forum but i have recently been having distressing thoughts about blood..

i have suffered with ocd for over a year now and taking medication and waiting for CBT.

I recently went away with my friend for a night away and stayed in a hotel. I wore a pair of jeans and a t-shirt and everything was fine. the next day I put the pair of jeans back on and started driving home, stopping at the petrol station on the way. Getting back in the car, whilst driving, i noticed 2 small dark red spots on my jeans (where my knee cap was). They were dark red and looked like small smeared blood spots. I instantly started freaking out as I was unsure what this could be or where it came from.

After taking my jeans off, it was on the inside aswell (not just the outside) however i could see no signs of my leg or knee bleeding. however i do suffer from Psoriasis so my legs do flake and occasionally bleed.

am I being stupid thinking i am at risk of catching something here or in this way? I know for a fact I didnt go near anyone and rub my knee against them! but i am now worried that i may be at risk

please help me

Re: OCD fears about blood..

I think it is pretty unlikely. Probably like you said about the psoriasis and having just a small skin area that bled from the psoriasis. You shouldn't always jump to the worst possible scenario, for instance just because your pants fit a bit tight doesn't mean you are pregnant, maybe your pants are fitting a little tight because you are retaining a bit of fluid or maybe even gained a pound or two. Don't always think the worst. Try to come up with a realistic reason for things.
