Hello, I'm not trying to be argumentive in any way, but I just want to let PauloSRS (and everyone else) know that eating like a "monster" on medication or not eating like a "monster" doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the weight gain experienced from psychotropic medications. Obviously, when you take in more calories than you expend, you gain weight, BUT even if you are on medication, haven't changed your eating habits, or if you are on medication and exercise regularly and even diet, you can still gain weight. There was actually a studied published (I'll try to look for it) that says that SSRI's can inhibit an enzyme in your liver that regulates your metabolism. In my case, that is exactly what happened. The study also proved that fish oil is extremely beneficial in SSRI weight gain because it helps the liver produce the enzyme that is being inhibited by them medication. AS SOON AS I STOPPED MEDS, I started eating MORE and losing so much weight so quickly that my physician was worried. And that was with my nightly bowl of ice cream and a regular, crappy American diet (which I actually don't eat anymore.) Anyway, I just thought that some of you may find that interesting. Take care everyone
