Thoughts that actually give you chest pain?

I've been having horrible thoughts that really give me chest pain I try so hard to distract myself from them but sometimes it feels IMPOSSIBLE. I've taking medication and going to therapy. Nothing seems to help I've tried deep breathing, but it won't go away one minute I will feel OK then it's all downhill from there.

Re: Thoughts that actually give you chest pain?

Well I am certain that sometimes obsessive thoughts become so much that we definitely experience physical symptoms (pain, fatigue, tightness in the chest, ect). I think the obsessions cause fear or a type of panic and then it manifests itself physically. Ever try any other relaxation methods?

Re: Thoughts that actually give you chest pain?

I've tried listening to really really loud music to block it out lol. Also running helps a little bit... & I have meditation on my ipod. Everything helps "A Little" I just wish it would go away.

Re: Thoughts that actually give you chest pain?

It sounds like angina. I have OCD and when I get stressed, I get chest pains which is

angina. It sounds like you need ongoing therapy. I am getting professional help.

The last two therapists I couldn't get along with but by the third one I am feeling

great b/c I can discuss what is bothering me. Good Luck!
