Re: Is this OCD?
I have had OCD since chidlhood, and one thing I have learned over the years about the disease is that we OCDers excessively notice the details of life's aspects, be it physical matter or abstract things like feelings, ideas, etc. We often don't see the "whole picture" because we're way too busy staring at one little detail of the whole picture. Before I discovered this aspect of my OCD, I did the mirror thing too. I was terribly preoccupied with my looks because I noticed that one of my eyes points slightly outward. I continually looked in the mirror and literally focused my eyes on at their own image in the mirror. I did not spread my gaze to my whole head in the mirror like unafflicted people probably do normally. Thus, I noticed a flaw not noticed by most non OCD people, unless I pointed it out to them. Think about this concept as it relates to you abstract "focuses" too. Kind of the same thing.
