Could it be OCD???
For the past couple of years, my friends and even two teachers think I have OCD. I like to organize things and in a way, it makes me feel better; it's comforting to me. I tend to pick out small details like when things aren't in place or are off by centimeters and it bothers me if I think about it too long.
When I get bored at home or school I tend to organize things depending on colour, size and item. For example, I've organized my closet from jacket to long sleeve shirt to shirts I wear at home (which are baggy), shirts for school, tank tops and my signed shirts from bands. From there I organize by colour.
If I'm bored at school, I'll clean out my backpack or organize my locker from books, size, binders and papers.
It helps me feel better. My dad always told me that organization is the key to success and I guess it kind of stuck to me.
I don't know. It's a long shot but what do you guys think???

Hey MadisonPandison, well one thing is to be very very organized and in control and the other is to suffer from OCD. I can tell you that OCD is like a torment it is not just being obsessed with something, sometimes you don't even know what is your preoccupation, it is like wanting to break free from something that produce you extreme anxiety but you just can't. Basically OCD is like a cycle, you feel the anxiety, then you obsess about something and then you ritualize for relieve, but then you become addicted to it and it goes on and on. OCD is fueled by fear. Based on what you had written, I don't see fear nor anxiety in you (could be wrong). However if you feel that being too organized is causing you a lot of distress then its time to seek for a professional.
