Post what do i do?

Okay i am going to the prom with my boyfriend. Well, he goes to a different school than i do and i will not know like anyone there. When i get around a bunch of people i get really shy and may come off stuck up sometimes. I don't want to come off like that at all around his friends. I'm scared that when i get there he is going to like hang out with all of his friends and I will be like the only one that does not know what is going on. I will be like the third wheel I guess. I donno i just get really nervous around a bunch of people i don't know. If any of yall know of a way that might help PLEASE tell me.
Love yall
Barbie

Hey Barbie; you don't want to be shy for the rest of your life, do ya? It's much more fun to be outgoing. I was really shy at your age, but now I'm not, and life is much more interesting. I have a job that requires me to be pretty daring and bold sometimes, and when I feel like I just can't do it, I play a little game where I pretend I'm someone else, or pretend I'm acting in a movie. After a few minutes, everything is fine and I'm glad I took the chance. You can do the same thing-- after all, you don't know these people, and you don't have to see them again, right? So use this chance as an opportunity to be "different" that the "you" that you are used to, and see how it works for you. If he's hanging with his pals, introduce yourself to their girlfriends and I bet they'll be really nice to you.

Barbie, Hey,, Just go to have fun Be confident. You'll make new friends & your boyfriend will be proud of you as well. Even if the b/f side tracks to talk to friends its OK. Thats normal You pick out someone to hang with. You can do it.

You know Barbie I HAD and I still tend to have the same problem that you have getting stuck up and shy around people you dont know. When I get around people that Iam not used to then i dont talk as much as I usaly do. You know its PROM come on girl lots of amazing things happen on that night. Just let everything go and be yourself...Whats the worse that could happen? You could end up making some friends and meeting others that you wont even be friends wtih in the future. Why let something like that hold ya back from having a good time? I'am only 15 yet to be 16 durring the summer....I had not have prom yet but girl I know on my prom night nothing is gonna hold me back from having a great time cuz its PROM....Its a once in a life time thing to experince.....Maybe you need to talk to your boy friend about him leaving to go hang with your frends. I know how you can feel at some points. I have just started a new school I have no friends yet butam working on it. If he does ditch you say heh who did you come here with? Make him relize that hes their with you hes girlfriend and their will be other times for him to talk to hes friends rather than spending it with hes amazing girl friend. Just be strong and try talking to your boyfriend.....try to be out spokin be wild....like I said its PROM....just have fun and dont let no one in your way.
good luck and have a great time
love always

Thumbs up

Hi Barbie. I know how you feel. I get shy around new people too. Well, what you need to do is tell your boyfriend that your shy in big groups. But you want to go to the prom with him. Ask him if he will help you feel comfortable by introducing you to a friend first. Maybe you all can hang out first. Go and have a good time. If you worry about it you will not have as good of a time as you could with out the worry.
