Question Concerning Hyperextended Ligaments - Open to All Other Health Topics Message Board

My youngest Melodie who has Atypical Autism has hyperextended ligaments throughout her body. This is not a symptoms that is generally associated with Autism and not once run into this problem.

So because there are a number of health/genetic abnormalities running through this family (bipolar, autoimmune disorders, non-convulsive seizures, etc...) I was curious if hyperextended ligaments have been associated with any abnormalities/diseases or disorders.

I am also interested in learning more about the problem but have had difficulty sources any information. Thank you...

Is there any other name for this condition [hyperextended ligaments]? Is the hyperextension rigid, in a fixed position?

There's a condition associated with gigantism where the ligaments as well as the bones tend to be disproportionately long. Probably the most recognizable adult example would be Abraham Lincoln.
