Welcome pulpfiction!
I frequent the Thyroid board, but I check in on other ones, too.
I had gall bladder surgery. The way it is done these days, it is not too bad of a procedure. I was in the hospital two days and then felt pretty good really fast. You will have to avoid any kind of heavy lifting for a few weeks, such as lifting wet laundry from a washing machine. It can take up to a year for the body to completely heal from a gut surgery, but you will feel normal way before that, providing there is no infection or complication.
Be sure to ask your doctor what his/her procedure is.
Different docs have different hospital stay and no lifting rules.
