I have had a sinus infection for about 9 days now.In the beginning, I had a sore throat and fever, so I was taking tylenol cold 3 times a day. For the past 4 days, I have been taking it once a day. Is it safe to take it for this long?
I don't drink any alcohol, so I know that is a plus!
But I have heard about people getting really sick after using Tylenol for 2 weeks, but I am wondering if that was 2 weeks of 3 times a day, not just once a day?
If you truly have a sinus infection,go see the Dr.Tylenol cold won't help.My Dr.says too much tylenol can mess up the liver.I too it for years for Arthritis.
Tylenol has something in it that negatively effects your liver in the long run. So if you continue to take it over long periods of time, it may cause damage to your liver. I think it is acetaminophen. The codine in it is addictive, so make sure that you are controlling yourself as well. Otherwise, if you take it moderately, you should be fine.
Tylenol has no codiene in it like the last poster implied unless it is the doctor prescribed pain med of Tylenol with codiene. If you do have a sinus infection or severe sinusitis you need to see your doctor for antibiotics. Once you get this cleared up you should consider taking a good antioxidant supplement to help eliminate future sinusitis/ sinus infections. I have been free from sinusitis/infections for 1 1/2 years since starting antioxidant supplements routinely. Before that I was needing antibiotics 3-4 times a year or more for severe sinus problems.
