Hellokitty, I have fibroid tumors my dr. found when I went for check-up in June. As long as they don't give me any problems like messing up my menstrual periods(bleeding heavily for long periods of time),then I won't need hysterectomy. Two of my sisters have had to have hysterectomy because of fibroids...Cindy
I had Fibroids.One started to grow,so the Dr.advised a hysterectomy.I was ready,my periods were so painful,& a big mess.Glad I had It done.I was 41 at the time.....
I'm 29 and my doctor has "felt" a fibroid for a few years now. 3 ultrasounds later, it doesn't show! But, he doesn't think it has grown, either. I have very few (if none) symptoms. Every few months I have a little cramp type pain. No heavy bleeding, etc. I am just getting concerned because my husband and I would like to start a family. I have read many things that say most pregnant women with fibroids do fine. I have also read that the procedure to remove a fibroid (myomectomy) can leave scar tissue which "may" impead fertility.
I have an appt. with a new doctor in 2 weeks and I'll be curious to see what she says!
Thanks for your replies!
