Why would a CEA blood test be high one time and 1 1/2 weeks later be almost normal?

Are you by chance a smoker?
Smokers may be asked to refrain from smoking for a short time before the test because smoking may increase CEA levels.

Also if it was high due to a GI problem and that cleared up you level might have went back down to normal.
