I'm 23 and in moderately good health. I'm average height and weight, eat healthily and get enough exercise, and only smoke about 10 cigarettes a day. However, I'm constantly tired, disinterested in life in general, have totally lost my sex drive and ability to maintain an erection (even with my girlfriend) and am becoming increasingly depressed and frustrated at the way I'm feeling. I can't remember when this started but am desperate to go back to the way I used to feel...
Does anybody out there know if these could be symptoms of an underlying problem? I really hope so... I couldn't bear to think that there is no remedy to the way I feel right now.
Human health & desease issues can and are most often very difficult to deal with. You may be experiencing generalized decline in health (mental and/or physical) for no one particular reason, or you could have a specific and underlying serious condition.
Request a complete physical examination from your physician including bloodwork. Begin educating yourself on health and disease related issues such as are represented here at healthboards. Above all, get & maintain a positive mental attitude.
Whenever there is a change in how you feel or what goes on in your life that is unusual it needs to be checked out. Most of your symptoms are consistent with depression but a good physical is in order first as the other poster stated. See your doc and get this started.
