Here's a new one that I just heard. I was told that people with fair skin have "thinner" skin therefore they tend to bruise easier. Is that true?? Hmmm......

I am not sure, but my sister is very fair, whereas I have a darker complexion.....

we both bruise easily....
but I find that she does have a tendency to bruise more intensely.

If we both had the same injury, her bruise would be bigger and brighter, and probably last longer.

Incidentally, people who are anemic tend to bruise easily.

Hows your iron?

I take a daily multi vitamin, a lysine (sometimes)and vitamin C (sometimes)I think that my multi supplies enough iron as iron can be hard on me.

I am fair skinned..so much so that I almost glow in the dark... At least that is one of the running jokes between DH and I. And I bruise every easily. Most times Dh will notice a bruise on me that I didnt know I had. I am always finding bruises that I have no clue as to how I got. Also when I do get bruises from bumping int things and such it takes them forever to go away and they tend to be huge.
And before anyone says get my iron tested. It has been because DH was worried when I was pregnant with our first about my bruising and such. Nothing is wrong there. I take a multi-vitamin and eat right to make sure my iron is fine. So I am not anemic.
