Hey everyone... first time posting here. Since I can remember my hands (especially my fingers) are ALWAYS cold. Even in the summer. I am an amateur hockey player and eat very good... I dont know what the problem is regarding that. The only time they are warm is when I am working out, or taking a shower. But 10 minutes after I finish they are back to normal. Another question is that my hands constantly chap from cold weather. Every day I have to use a moisturizer but it always fades rather quickly. Anyone have any comment on this? I am aware its not a serious issue but its something im curious about.

Try searching the boards on this site and the internet for something called Raynaud's Syndrome. It's fairly harmless, but it causes extremely cold hands and feet that blanch easily. I would also recommend that you post on the Skin, Hair, & Nails board, as I have seen posts regarding Raynaud's Syndrome and similar problems on that board. Persons on that board can also give you good tips on how to keep your hands better moisturized.

Vitam E cream is very good for dry skin. It is better than ordinary moisturiser.

There is something brand new that is just coming out, called "Gloves in a Bottle". It is a moisturizer that bonds with your skin to retain your own moisture, and at the same time nourishes and moisturizes it.

Hi,

I work in a retirement home so we must wash our hands many times a day. Our hands in the winter end up so chapped they split when the hand is closed. I will not use commercial creams - perfummed, too greasy, or just don't last. The item I use is natural and can be found in the health food stores or some pharmacies - Lavender essential oil - 4 drops in a tsp of olive oil, almond oil acctually any oil you would ingest - cooking oil is also good (what I use - cheaper) anyways it'll even take the burning away.
