I recently got my cartilage pierced. It's been a couple weeks now and I just noticed that inside, in the front of the ear, there's a little bump. It doesn't particularly look like a keloid, and it was bleeding earlier this evening. I used soap and water and antiseptics to wash it off and then I put neosporin on it.
Anyone have any ideas what it could be or what I should do to treat it?
It doesn't hurt...it just doesn't look like it should be there and I don't want it to get worse.

Hi there. I recently had that problem with my nose peircing. I don't know if it would be the same thing. I too was washing it and putting neosporin and all kinds of stuff on it. I called the place where I got it done and they said that I'm suffocating it, and not letting it heal properly. They told me what they thought I should do and it cleared right up. Maybe it will help for you.
Try washing it twice a day (no more, no less) with Dial anti-bacterial soap. Put nothing else on it...and DO not touch or play with it at all. Don't know if it will work with the cartlidge or not. Good luck

Hi! I think I had a similar problem with my piercing. What I noticed was that my stud was so tight that the piercing couldn't get enough of air etc. I cleaned it up a couple times a day and switched the stud. I'm not sure if you have a ring or what kind of jewelry in it. Rings "breath" better than studs and that way are better. It took for awhile to get back to normal. But it did eventually. Maybe this will help you a bit. And try not sleeping on that side for it will irratate it more. I'd take the stud sometimes even out for nights. I still do. Smiles

Could it be possible that you might have a keloid?
