Could it be that you are attracted to the way your boss treats you? The praise, encouragement, ego boost etc which he gives you as a person. Possibly you have lacked certain needs/emotions/feelings from other important people in your life, such as parents, siblings, boyfriend and you feel that you are getting some of this from your boss and you are then in turn mistaking his generous, friendly nature as "love" while from his perspective, he see's you as a wonderful and great employee, but that's where the line stops.
You don't say whether you are attracted to the way your boss looks physically. Is he a similar age to you? Does he do anything in partiuclar to single you out of everybody else? does he flirt with you/others? does he have a reputation?
I once had a boss who loved the attention of the ladies, would have a little flirt and pass comments which often had a double meaning. I know his wife didn't like it, but she needn't have worried as he'd never stray. We all used to say that if a woman made a pass at him he wouldn't know what in hell to do :P
