Hi happyme29,
If you have a chiropractor, you could talk to him/her. I have the same chronic problems, related to nerve irritation.
You could do a search on repetative stress injury. I don't know what kind of job you do, but the symptoms sound similar to mine.
The arm problem is possibly from the upper back, lower cervical area, and the numbness in your head could be higher in the cervical area.
You should get it dealt with. You may also consider to see someone in a sports clinic, physio therapy or of course, your doctor. He/she can do x-rays..etc.
You may be sleeping on a pillow that is too high, or that has your head canted at an odd angle or not giving enough support. A neck supporting pillow that holds your head without pressure would be good.
Also, if you sleep on your side, you may consider hugging a small pillow. It will help to keep the side that's up (not the side you're sleeping on) straighter and supported, therefore, not putting stress on the areas that are possibly having pressure.
You could try massage or even accupuncture, but I would suggest at least your doctor firstly.
He may put you on muscle relaxants and probably prescribe physio.
I would advise it soon, because if it becomes chronic, the area only gets weaker (even with treatment).
Please let us know what your diagnosis is.
Best to you,
quincy
