throat lump?what is this - Open to All Other Health Topics Message Board

Recently I was coughing very hard and I felt something pop in my neck , after this happened my neck was in pain and the next day there was a bump in my throat/neck area.I was pretty sure i had pulled a muscle in my neck but now its 3 days later and its still here, the bump pops out when i eat or move my throat near it is located.Im guessing its a pulled muscle since it popped out when i was coughing very hard , more like hacking but I smoke a pack a day of ciggerettes as well so im stressed what is this lump a pulled muscle please reply if u can help.Im 21/male

I replied to your other thread.. please see a doctor! You don't want it to be something you should have gone in earlier for, and it's just getting worse..

it seems to be protruding out of my neck its up underneath my jaw half way between my chin and ear.

Could it be a swollen gland? (like the ones that your mom checks when you are sick?) Or it could be a large nodule on your thyroid (like mine was). Let a doctor look at it to be safe. Kay?
