ok for about the past 2 weeks the pinky portion of my left hand has been "asleep." i've had that feeling that you get when your leg falls asleep, only it hasn't gone away. it extends from my pinky to the lower portion of my palm.

what should i do? should i go see a physician?

Ouch! that sounds painful... does it feel like pins and needles are gettin stabbed into ur hand?? my best suggestion would b go to a doctor and get some help... they mite think your crazy but u could have hit a nurve or something

Does the skin on your finger turn white? This is a very common condition but my brain fails me (brain fog!) as to what the name of it is. Zuzu help me out here!
I have quite a few friends with this condition and it may affect one or more of your fingers. Sometimes friction (rubbing briskly) will bring back the feeling and colour, or a warm compress....Tagger

it's not the tingly feeling from falling asleep, it's the numbness.

no, the skin on my finger stays the same color.

today.. i noticed when i positioned my hand in a certain way i could feel pressure building up. it felt like my circulation was being cut off. then when i moved it into another position, the pressure would come down but the numbness would stay.

ok i found out what the most likely problem is. my friend at cornell med said that it's a pinched nerve. since it's my pinky, it's the ulnar nerve that's getting affected. could be due to the fact that i've been working out a lot lately, but it could also be the start of cubital tunnel syndrome...

guess i'll just have to go to a doctor.
