104 Fever for 9 days and body soreness - HELP! - the only symptoms - Open to All Other Health Topics Message Board

Hello,
I am in need fo some help. I'm a usually healthy 26 year old male but about 9 days ago I noticed I had a high fever. There is NO flulike symptems, no nausia, no sickness. I don't have insurance, so I went to the free health clinic. They took a chest xray, drew blood, and took urine samples two different times. I've been there three times and they have been unable to find anything wrong with me. They gave me motrin and tylonal and told me it's prob a virus. The last time they saw me, they were shocked that it had not gone away and sent me to the emergency room - which I left because I can not afford it.

Whether you think you can afford it or not you need to get this treated before it turns into something serious. If you are not working then then you should be able to qualify for some type of assistance and if you are working then there really is no excuse not to get checked out. It will cost you more in the long run if this turns in to something serious and you wind up in the hospital needed extensive treatment then if you get this taken care of now. Good Luck.

A fever this high for an extended period of time is serious. Your body is obviously battling something--be persistent and in the meantime take measures to keep your body temperature down if you can. Good luck!

A fever of this duration could mean there is an infection somewhere in your body. It could even be internal or just a cut the has become infected. Are you sexually active? Could you have contracted an nfection that way? Worth getting checked uot. Your body is telling you something, listen to it....Tagger

You are going to cook your brain if you don't do something. Also, there is a huge risk of sterility. I can't believe that with a temperature that high, they didn't have you admitted the first time you saw someone. Have you considered the possibility that you could be infectious at some point? Start drinking water by the bucketfuls and get treated. This is a no-brainer. 25 is too young to die! Good luck.
