I'm having my wisdom teeth removed in a few days. I'm wondering what I should eat the days after surgery. Everything I read just says eat "soft foods". Can someone please be a little more specific. Thanks.

Nothing, lol. No, I'm just kidding. My brother had hisulled, he ate stuff like tuna. We brought him a salad one night, and he ate the lettuce piece by piece. He was prescribed Vicodin. Well at least the pain is gone now. Wisdom teeth really suck, I hope I could help. Don't laugh, it'll hurt!

A friend of mine had all four of her wisdom teeth pulled. She would eat baby food and even use a little baby spoon. She also drank everything from straws for a while as she could not open her mouth up very much. What about some health shakes like slimfast,ensure,etc. just in case you are hungry but can't chew very well?

I had all four of them pulled at once and believe me it was hell for a week. DO NOT drink from a straw! Why? Because you do not want to suck out those sutures. Those sutures are very fragile and can be easily disturbed.
DO NOT eat hard and crunchy stuff like potato chips. You need to eat food that require little or no effort.
Do eat stuff like pudding, jello, applesauce, etc... Drink lots of Gatorade to keep your self hydrated. Trust me, during your recovery period, you're not gonna want to eat because it hurts so bad!
Depending on how fast you heal and how good your oral surgeon is will determine your recovery time.
I know this one guy who went to a general dentist and had his wisdom teeth pulled one a week for four weeks. He suffered for a whole month! What an idiot!

I had all 4 wissies pulled many years ago. I ate a lot of yoghurt! Be careful if they give you pain medication as you usually need to take them with food. (the baby food sounds like a good idea, wish I'd though of it!) You could also try "smoothies and shakes". Just throw a bunch of good stuff in a blender.
I have memories of waking in severe pain and having to shovel down some yoghurt so I could take my pain meds. (remember, don't take them on an empty stomach!) Believe me you are not going to want to eat "crunchy stuff"!...Tagger
