Red face Leg temporarily paralyzed?

Hey everyone. I don't know if anyone here knows anything about this, but recently it has sarted bothering me.

A couple of months ago I woke up and as I'm getting out of bed I start to stand up but I absoulutly cannot stand on my right leg. I immediatly fall to the floor and get carpet burn on my knee. As I start to stand back up pushing myself up with my left leg and then standing on my right leg I fall again. At first when I fell I just thought I was still half a sleep but by the time I fell the second time I knew I was wide awake. So I pulled myself back into bed and I feel the muscle either tightening up really tight or loosening up. It is hard to distinguish between the two. This happened on one other occasion Same story. I fall as I'm getting out of bed. But I experienced a little pain in my leg when the muscle was either tightening are loosening after I was back in bed.
This has scared me somewhat. It has been a while since this has happened but I still wonder what the problem was. If anyone has any idea what this could be or this has happened to someone let me know. Thanks in advance!

The nerves to the legs run from the base of the spine to each leg. If one has been damaged or is being pinched you can loose control of your thigh muscle but still have control lower down. This happened to me after surgery when the epidermal was too close to one leg nerve. My right thigh was paralyzed but I could move my calf and foot muscles. After the epidermal was removed it came back.

In your case have you fallen hard on your butt lately? You really should see a G.P. and have him reccomend a specialist(probably a neurologist).

Thanks for your reply!
I don't know that I have fallen on my butt lately all though it is possible. I am kind of accident prone so I can't keep up with every thing. If it is a pinched nerve or damage, do you think it can heal on its own? It has been a while since this has happened so maybe it did. Hopefully it won't come back worse. My legs bother me alot but they have since I was little so I'm actually use to it. I just figured that this had something to do with it. Thanks again for your input!

I know. That is exactly how mine was! It is actually quite scary. Did this ever bother you again? The doctor didn't seem concerned? Sometimes I think doctors are too lazy or in a hurry to even listen to what a person says and sometimes it turns out to be something really serious! I am 17, so this was really scary for me especially since I shouldn't be having serious problems that this might be a result of. Well thanks for replying. I'm glad to know this has happened to someone else and they are still OK! I think sometimes I worry way too much about health problems!
