Post Odor...

Hey, im a teenager in high school and i have a problem thats been making me really depressed lately.
Since last january, ive heard kids in my class talking about that something smells like butt. AFter many hints and clues, ive realized that the odor is coming from me, but i rarely can smell the odor im producing. Ive checked my butt, and there is nothing there, i wipe it, there nothing there, i wear deodorant, cologne and its still there. Its really embarrassing because kids sit away from me, and will talk to the other kids in my class and tell them that i smell, I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO. Its ruining my life. when i come out of a shower, i smell myself, and wipe myself, and im fine, but once at school, it smells bad, and i dont know how to get rid of it. I never had this problem, until January, PLEASE HELP ME, iF U HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM< OR IF U HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS~ depressed and smelly kid

Do you have a pet at home? If you do, check your shoes. I had a cat that urinated in my shoes once. It took me days to finally figure where the horrible pee smell was coming from. I thought it was me!

If it's not your shoes (that's the only thing that doesn't get washed alll the time) then ask your parents if they can help you find where the odor is coming from. I wish I could be more help.

I don't mean this in any offensive way but could it be just foot odor? (feet don't smell good anyway) and some people's feet produce more odor than others for some reason. You might try putting some activated charcoal inserts in your shoes (Dr. Scholls) or if you want to go the economy route, just try sprinkling a little baking soda or corn starch in your shoes before you go to bed at night. It could also be scalp odor or maybe you stepped in something on your way to school and that's what people are smelling. You mentioned that they said it smelled like "butt"...do you have a dog or cat?...is there one on your route to school?. IF it's not any of these things, then perhaps it's just "you" and there is nothing you can do about it. I mean, some people just have an "odor" about them and although they can't help it, it's just "there". It's a shame people judge you by how you look, smell, what brand of shoes you wear, how thin/fat/tall you are, etc. People can be pretty cruel and judgemental but it's just part of the whole "experience" here on earth I guess. Good luck.

Could it be your breath, sometimes its hard to tell what ones own breath smells like...
Can you ask a one of your parents to help you out with this?
Might it be the types of food you eat, very spicy or with lots of garlic?

It might be your diet. Sometimes certain foods or spices can be excreted with sweat and leave and nasty smelling odor. Also cats will do the same thing too. Our cat rinated on my husband's hunting clothes one day and he kept telling me the guys were giving hima hard time about how he smelled. I smelled his clothes and it was definately the same odor of our cats urine. If it is coming off of you then try changing your diet. If that doesn't work then visit your dr and explain what is going on with you and he should be able to help you out.-Roni

I also wanted to add that leaving your clothes in the washer for a long period of time before putting them in the dryer will leave a smell(similar to rotten egg) and it is impossible to make it go away after several washes. We found that out when we left out of town for one day and forgot to put the wash in the dryer.
This usually happens when well water is being used.
