vomitting everyday - Open to All Other Health Topics Message Board

My brother in law has been vomitting at least 1 time a day for the past 7 weeks or so. He hasnt been able to work since it started. The doctors have done tests, mri, etc and has no idea why. They put camera down in stomach but didnt see anything except that his stomach was sensitive due to vomitting so much. The other day he actually vomited some blood.

Does anyone have any help with this? They are treating him with medicine to help with nausea and also for anxiety.

Sounds lile maybe an ulcer or even acid reflux. Maybe woth getting checked out to rule out sonething more serious...Tagger

Is he taking any medication that might be causing it? Sometimes meds cause nausea.

he does have some acid reflux but doctors said that it shouldnt be causing him to keep doing it. As far as i know they are treating the acid reflux. They even did a scan of head and saw that he had a sist in his sinus's but said that wouldnt be cause either.
They didnt see ulcer - as far as other meds he is taking medicine for high bllod pressure etc all same medicines he has been taking for while now

Does the nausea medication help at all? Or does he just suddenly vomit without having nausea a while beforehand?

My mother went through chemo and she would get nauseous from the treatment. She would stuff tissues into her mouth to keep from swallowing her saliva, which I guess has chemicals that trigger vomitting. Anyway, I have tried it myself when nauseous and it works every time. I don't know what your brother feels like before he vomits though, or if the same reflex is causing him to vomit... it could be something in his stomach rather than chemicals from the saliva? I don't know. Maybe this will at least help him keep his food down, even if it doesn't stop his nausea.
