Sometimes constipation and straining at your stool can cause hemorrhoids which can bleed from time to time.
However, blood when you defecate should never be assumed to be hemorrhoids without further investigation by a gastroenterologist, since it can also be an indication of polyps or even cancer. Get it checked out.
Chances are it is not serious but don't ignore it. If your doctor finds hemorrhoids there are lots of topical ointments that can reduce them. Also if you are constipated or strain a lot, eating lots of fiber is a good idea...raw veggies, salads, fruit.
