Why does it sometimes feel like my head is a pressurized balloon that has been blown up with helium?. I'm serious. I have some really bad problems with allergies (and anxiety) and I'll always get this feeling along with sharp but mild pains in my head and neck. Even if my nose is'nt runny or stuffed up this feeling comes over me. I know it sounds like no big deal...like I just have a case of the "sniffles" or something but this thing makes me feel horrible and debilitates me sometimes to the point where I am sitting around all day, dazed-out, tired, achey and wishing I could just crawl back in bed and go to sleep. This thing makes my eyes either watery or dried out and my face feels like a tight mask. Then my anxiety takes over and I start worrying about what horrible disease I might have (rabies, cancer, AIDS, etc). It got so bad today that I could'nt even focus on what I was doing and ended up gulping down a few tablespoons of Nyquill to put me out of my misery for awhile. Even now I feel achey and horrible. then there's the IBS, the OCD, the high blood pressure, etc. Life is not good. Not in my case anyway. If I drink a lot of coffee and/or take my usual morning walk, I am sick all day. they say that fall is a bad time for allergies. this is Fall and the ragwed count is high. Anyone else share my misery here?. Please feel free to speak up. I could sure use a freind right now (or a big group hug).

First and foremost, I'm not a physician! However, you sound close to what I went through for a year...a monster sinus infection with no ******d symptoms (runny nose, etc.) until I became nauseous. I was actually having bad post-nasal drip without realizing it. I had had sinus surgery two months, and a year, prior...and took antibiotics...and still developed an infection. By the end of the first year.....I was a basket case, along with horrible migraines, and all the other symptoms you listed! When I realized what was wrong (and yes, I was under a general practitioner's care who prescribed the Zomig for the migraines), I immediately got an appointment with the surgeon,to confirm my suspicions, to which he concurred (after a CAT scan of my sinuses), and received mega-doses of Levaquin for a full month (sinus infections are notoriously difficult to clear). Since then my migraines and all the other weird symptoms have slowly subsided. It does take a while to clear up.....no miracle cure there!
Bottom line........see your physician....and if he doesn't resolve your problem, perhaps a trip to a good EENT specialist (eye, ear, nose, throat) should be in order!
