I don't think you're wrong....but I do think your perspective is a bit skewed.
I agree that we shouldn't sweat the small stuff -- but your small stuff may be my big stuff. It depends on where in our lives we are and what our experiences have been that have helped to create our focus on specific little things.
There does seem to be a lot of people who need connections and different perspectives to help them figure out just how they measure up to others with the things that are bothering them or the problems they are having at the time.
Family, spouses, friends....all have the history that gets in the way of looking at a situation without bias.
Anonymous contact on boards such as these, allow us to ask questions of people who have/hopefully have experienced similar situations. The contact gives us the feeling of not being so isolated and can even help to see things in others' perspectives. Empathy, support or even a kind kick in the butt can be just the thing that's needed.
Some people have to led, some people learn by relating, some people learn through others' experiences and solutions for problems, be them serious or not.
One thing I've noticed is that when we feel good about ourselves, nothing seems to bother us.....but when we don't feel good about ourselves, it's the little things that seem to bother us the most. It's a coping mechanism, and it takes work and understanding of one's self to start getting to the crux of the problem(s).
Been there, done that -- and it's been the most difficult process but the most rewarding of all.
So, there's my take on it.
