Reoccuring crack in lip corners for FIVE YEARS - Open to All Other Health Topics Message Board

My lips have been swelling and cracking just in the corners for about five years. this comes and goes fortnightly. I've seen my doctor about it numerous times but he's been no help at all.
The only thing i've found that helps at all is mild hydrocortisone, but when i stop using it the corners will start to crack agin within a few days.
Any help would be really appreciated, as this problem is driving me insane.

A lot of times cracks in the corners of the mouth/lips are a vitimin deficiency of riboflavin

Thanks, for the response, but i have tried many courses of multivitamins over the years

I would definitely take a multi-vitamin/mineral supplement if you're not and maybe add a B complex vitamin with it.

In the meantime, try to keep your lips coated with Chapstick as much as possible.

The strange thing is i find moisturisers and chap sticks seem to make it worse, or trigger it off again.
