I have a question. Yesterday morning I was just sitting at the computer and all of a sudden I had a severe pain in the left side of my neck and left shoulder. I couldn't move shoulder and neck for several hours, and still in a lot of pain when I try. It has been about 18 hours since this happened and now I am having some blurred vision. I have no health problems, and haven't been doing any lifting or anything out of the ordinarary. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

when you move your neck to look left and then to look right, are you able to move the same distance in both directions? if not, i would think you may have pinched a nerve. this is very painful. have you tried ice pack for 10 min then heat pack for 10 min? usually a pinched nerve will let up in a few days.

Are you having any numbness at all in your arm or fingers? You may have a pinched nerve in your neck, strained muscle or possible a herniation. Herniation pain can sometimes start will dull shoulder ache however sometimes they can have an acute rapid onset as well.
Probably best to see the doctor and have it checked. In the meantime if it is still hurting you ice your neck and shoulder and hopefully you will get some relief.
