Heart rate increase from normal numbers

I workout daily 30 min weight training and 30-45 min cardio. I monitor my heart rate with a Polar HRM. Today, during all my cardio, my heart rate stayed on the high end almost the entire time. It went right back down to normal when I stopped working out but during my workout (which was a very normal workout) I could feel that something was different. I was extremely tired and seemed also to sweat alot more than usual. I cannot think of any thing out of the normal that may attribute to the high numbers. Any thoughts or ideas?

Re: Heart rate increase from normal numbers

That has happened to me and it seems to happen if I have had a bad day and I don't feel like working out, but I do anyway. Maybe it's the body telling us to skip the workout for that day. The next day I am always back to normal. I would not let one workout like that bother you, but if it were to continue then I would check further into it.

Re: Heart rate increase from normal numbers

Dehydration can cause your heart beat to increase. So can caffeine, and for some people, sugar.
