A little over a year ago my younger sister died of breast cancer. About that time I had a cyst on one of my breast. I recently had another mammogram and they tell me I have a swollen lymph node in around the same area. They told me to have a follow-up mammogram in six months. Should I be concerned about this and seek a second opinion?
If I were you, I would get a second opinion. You have a history of it within your family, a sibling at that. This is definitely something you should be concerned over, and Im sorry over the loss of your sister. Please do take care, and get a second opinion. It will at least give you a peace of mind, and not worry about having to wait 6 months.
Thank you for the reply. I agree with you, but I did not want to appear to a hypochondriac over the situation. My sister died at age 36, because she was not aggressiive enough about her health care and left 9 children behind.
